Are you ready to purchase a bee colony? If so, Ballz Beez is ready to help you. We are prepared to provide our customers with any size colony that they desire.
Typical colonies that are sold are five, eight, and ten frame colonies. Prices vary based on colony strength and number of honey bees purchased, however a standard amount is around $30.00 – $34.00 per frame of honey bees. This includes a new box set up.
We encourage buyers to inspect the hives prior to purchase. We offer assistance for new beekeepers (Beekeeping 101). We will provide an education inspection prior to your colony purchase because we care about your honey bees as much as we do.
We also offer delivery and stand set up. This service is tailored to the customers specific needs.
ABOUT BALLZ BEEZ
Our passion for this work began in 2018 while cutting down some cherry trees for hardwood flooring. While cutting, we noticed a colony of honey bees in an old, rotten tree trunk.
At the time, we were in the process of cloning blueberry bushes and thought that it would be awesome to have honey bees at the house to benefit from their pollination of the flowers. So we started to remove the honey bees. Looking back, it’s quite humbling to see our inefficient method of removing the colony from that tree stump and into a bee box. It literally took months. Yes, months.
Once the colony was safely moved to a bee box, (months later), we were able to examine the colony. We were immediately hooked. It was incredibly captivating to watch the organization, unity, communication, harmony, and spirited work ethics that the colony possessed.
After a few more successful, however challenging hive removals, we began to scour the internet to learn from the pros. And we learned that the only way to truly evacuate a colony from an unwanted structure was to go in after them. Yes, just go right in.
